This type of products include steel sheets used for production of wielded pipes and structures, bent profiles, ship bodies, chemical and heat-exchange machinery, car bodies, airplanes and wagons, distribution boards,  electrical machinery, industrial fridges and many types of other equipment. Steel sheet provides the optimal solution for construction tasks with minimal expenditure of metal.

Carbon steel of usual quality (St2, St3, St08, St10) or low-alloyed - 09G2S is used for this item. When issuing a hot-rolled sheet of regulatory documents are governed by:

• chemical composition of steel;
• geometrical dimensions (length, width, thickness), as well as the accuracy of these parameters;
• kind of edge.

The advantages of hot-rolled sheet is that it is a technologically simple and convenient way to obtain various products by bending or stamping. The possibility of obtaining such a limiting thickness (up to 0.4 mm) allows to obtain products of minimum weight (which is especially important, for example, in the automotive industry). In comparison with cold-rolled, hot-rolled sheet has a relative low cost of production and high corrosion resistance.

Types of hot rolled plates

The available classifications of this flat metal take into account several of its degrees, such as the immediate thickness of the product, manufacturing accuracy, flatness of the sheet and the type of edge (extreme):

By sheet thickness

• sheet steel - thickness from 0.4 to 3.9 mm;
• plate steel - from 4 mm.

By manufacturing accuracy (up to 12 mm)

• normal accuracy (the letter "B" in the title);
• increased accuracy (letter "A").

By flatness

• normal;
• improved;
• high;
• especially high (software).

By type of edge

• with not cut;
• with edged.

Also, hot-rolled sheet can be classified by purpose, that is, its main focus as a raw material for a specific type of production activity: normal use, for the production of boilers and for shipbuilding.

Standard sizes of hot rolled plate

Maximum sheet width can reach 3800 mm, length - 12 000 mm. We give the run (from and to) the thickness of the produced hot-rolled sheets:

• 1.2 - 12 mm - in rolls;
• 0.4 - 160 mm - in sheets.
